Jefferson Navicky presents his new poetic novel THE BOOK OF TRANSPARENCIES and Kristen Case presents her new book of poetry, PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS
Jefferson Navicky, THE BOOK OF TRANSPARENCIES: In THE BOOK OF TRANSPARENCIES, the narrator discovers a book in a community college library that changes his life. With increasing intensity, he traces both story and author through New York, Paris, Italy, and Berlin, arriving finally in Maine where the author disappeared decades ago. Part epic love story, part detective novel, THE BOOK OF TRANSPARENCIES is an archive of a man's life, which comes to include the narrator himself. Its pages speak to the permeable, intersecting nature of our memories, and the efforts we make to bring the pieces into wholeness.
Kristen Case, PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS: "PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS marks the movement of a body in consciousness, in love, in illness, and in grief. It explores how, in measured language, one might attempt to measure time and all its strange work. Arranged in glinting layers of associative and disjunctive lines, these poems are a quiet thrill. Reading them, I feel a simultaneous calmness and excitement. I trust that this poet's bright mind knows just where to lead me, am happily surprised at each new place it goes." —Heather Christle
