VIRTUAL: Book Reviewing with Educators

Register Here

What makes a good book review? How can book reviews be used to help engage students with literacy? What can you do to help students who want to work in publishing? Ann Kjellberg, a many-decade veteran of book reviewing and book publishing, talks with educators about the future of book reviewing and what careers with books may look like for your students.

Ann worked for thirty years as an editor with founder Robert Silvers at the New York Review of Books, and she recently started the book reviewing newsletter Book Post. She also founded the literary magazine Little Star, is the literary executor of the poet Joseph Brodsky, and began her career in book publishing, at Farrar, Straus & Giroux, and booksellling.

Stephanie Heinz, Print: A Bookstore's children's manager and community coordinator, will also join in to discuss ways we can take the information learned during this talk and continue our work throughout the school year.

Audience members will receive a free three-month subscription to Book Post.
