When are you open?
Print: A Bookstore is open to the public from 11am to 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday. We also offer curbside pickup from 11am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday. Private shopping appointments are available Monday through Saturday and can be booked at this link.
OK, so when are you closed?
We are closed on the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. We'll also occasionally close the store due to inclement weather when we feel travel endangers our staff and customers. We post about these closings on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
Does Print have parking spaces?
Unfortunately, we don't have any dedicated store parking. The five on-street spots between Print and Locust Street are all unlimited all day parking. The four streets that circle our block - Congress, Smith, Locust, and Cumberland - have ample on-street spaces, with a mix of one hour, two hour, and all day spots. The nearest parking lots and garages are Top of the Old Port (at Congress and Pearl) and the Ocean Gateway Garage (at Fore and Hancock).
Do you carry or buy used books?
Will Print carry my book?
If we think it's something that fits with our store and that we can sell, absolutely! If your book is traditionally published, we'll order it directly from your publisher via our sales representative. If it's self-published, we can take the book on consignment - details of our consignment program are available here.
Does Print have a customer loyalty or rewards program?
We do! For every $200 dollars spent at Print (in store or online), customers get a $10 store credit. You can sign up for the program in the store, or by emailing us here.
Any other discounts?
- Educator: 20% discount on books purchased for classroom use (School ID required).
- Bulk Order: 20% discount and free local delivery for orders of 20 or more copies
- Book Clubs: 20% discount for book clubs who commit to buying 5+ copies of a single title from us
Do you offer signed copies?
Print is very lucky to have a number of fantastic local authors and illustrators who offer signed and personalized copies of their books through our store. Availability for signing and particulars around personalizations are up to the author's discretion and we'll update you if we expect a longer than usual delay in getting your order out. Personalizations are available for personal purchases and gifts only, large personalization requests or requests for corporate gifts may require approval from the publisher or author.
Will Print donate an item for my auction, raffle, or event?
While we don't offer merchandise donations, Print will consider gift certificate donations on a case-by-case basis. We periodically have books available to donate to schools and non-profits, please contact our children's manager at firstname.lastname@example.org for such requests.
Do you carry magazines?
We do not, but the wonderful Portland Food Co-Op across the street does.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Print accepts Discover, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash, NFC payment, and local checks (with an ID).
What is your return policy?
We accept returns in sellable condition within 30 days of purchase, as long as you have your receipt. We refund in store credit, or in the form of payment.
I want a book that I didn't see on your shelves. Can you get it for me?
ABSOLUTELY! It's one of our favorite things to do. As long as a book is in print, we will do everything we can to get it in for you. We order a few times a week, so it only takes generally 2-3 days to get a book in.
